» desertblue - Mitch's Poll

I noticed a lot of us are voting for the last option on Mitch's poll - the hot tubs, hot chocolate, hot toddys and other resort amenities. LOL.

I will admit a ski resort with clean white powder, blue skies and colorful skiers is a fun setting. I love looking at mt. peaks. I am not really big on being cold - more of a desert rat, myself - but don't be discouraged! Your articles are very interesting and you just might encourage me to learn to appreciate winter more.

In the meantime, I really do prefer to use those ski lifts in the summertime to get me to the top of a mountain for wildflower hiking... ;)

What does everyone else who voted for resorts and hot tubs have to say?

I have to agree on the hot tubs, although I'd rather cross country ski to a hot springs. And hang out nude of course. With a hot flask of baileys and peppermint schnapps. happy

ah well, i'm old school - you'vegotta earn your hot tub time through heavey exercise and too much snowsliding fun. then, the hot tub is the only place to be.

Ok, Dan, I'm thinking that might be a little more than I need to know about you. LOL

Truth is I only like snow to take pictures of. Can't stand being in it and I don't like strapping anything to my feet that requires special skills to stop. Yes, I'm a wuss...give me a hot tub with a hot cider and I'm content to watch the world ski by in my warmth. :D

Nude? At a ski resort? You are brave! Heheh... Unless it's only in the hot tub...

Now at a beach... different story.

well i prefer something grownup in my hot cider and chocolate, myself...yummmm.

Like Dan (who is talking about hot SPRINGS, in nature, not hot TUBS), I prefer a hot spring any day over a hot tub. I like to hike or backpack to them, but have on occassion cross country skied and snowshoed in.

hiking, skiing to, or even driving to hot springs defintely makes for a special occasion. and, even at the most "civilized" of ski resorts, you can find access to spots that allow (encourage?) nude soaking. i've found 'em near steamboat springs, co; and telluride, co, too. but, you've gotta go easy on the liquor - especially at those elevations. clothed or no - it's a very cool way to be warm.

» Feature Writer Jodi Gallegos - Mitch's Poll

Dan, there are "naked ski days" at some Colorado ski resorts. Usually at the end of the season (when it's warmer).
It's not for me though. I'll get my runs in (clothed) then I'll be chillin' at the lodge sippin' Peppermint Patties by the fire.
