Snowmobiling from the top of the ski lifts at a major resort is the unusual offering at Utah's Snowbird Resort.

Skiers and snowboarders visiting Utah's Wasatch Mountains who are looking for a fun activity for a day off from skiing and riding may wish to check out Snowbird's two- and three-hour snowmobile tours.

The tours take place on 50,000 acres of pristine terrain in Mineral Basin, starting from the highest elevation of any snowmobile tour operation in Utah.

Riders reach the starting point by ascending the Aerial Tram and descending into Mineral Basin via the Mineral Basin Express chairlift. Prices range from $109 for the driver and $25 for a passenger for the two-hour tours, to $149 per driver and $60 per passenger for sled/ski packages.

Two-hour tours leave daily at 9:15, 11:30 and 1:45, while three-hour tours are offered daily at 9:15 and 12:45. For more information, visit the Snowbird Activity Center on level 3 of Snowbird Center, or contact Summit Snowmobiling
