New bus services make it easier for skiers, snowboarders and wintersports fans to get to and around North Lake Tahoe.
Skiers, snowboarders, Nordic skiers, snowmobilers and wintersports enthusiasts of all kinds are finding getting to, from and around in North Lake Tahoe easier this winter thanks to two new bus shuttle services.
The new North Lake Tahoe Express daily airport shuttle service began November 15. It’s available for transport to and from North Lake Tahoe and the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
Travelers can book seats on 21-passenger shuttles for one of three routes, including stops at major lodging properties:

Many properties on the North Lake Tahoe Express route are within walking distance of area ski resorts and pedestrian villages. Other properties provide special skier shuttles to guests for skiing at nearby resorts.
The North Lake Tahoe Express runs from 3:30 a.m. until 12 midnight.
Fares are $35 per person, one-way, $60 round trip. Discounts are available for groups of two or more and frequent-user passes are available at a cost of $100 for five trips, with additional trips at $15 each, when purchased at one time.
The one-way fare for 21 passengers (booked as a group) is $225 and $325 roundtrip, perfect for corporations and non-profit organizations holding meetings in North Lake Tahoe.

North Lake Tahoe has also launched a free, evening bus service from Squaw Valley to Tahoe City to Crystal Bay, Truckee and Tahoma.
The service is from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and runs through April 8.
Truckee, too, has launched a new, free nighttime downtown shuttle service that will run through April 8. Hours of operation are 6 p.m. until midnight, seven days a week. The service provides guests ease and accessibility from local lodging to downtown Truckee.
