Shanty Creek's Slush Cup Weekend and Irish Weekend with Cardboard Classic shows that Midwestern skiers and snowboarders just wanna to have fun.

The other we talked about skiing and snowboarding March madness in the Catskills. Apparently, Midwesterner skiers and snowboarders know how to go crazy in March, too.

Shanty Creek Resort & Club stages a pair of mad weekends—Slush Cup Weekend and Irish Weekend—designed to keep all ages and ski-ride abilities throughly entertained.

Slush Cup Weekend

Slated for this coming weekend, March 2-4, 2007, Shanty Creek serves up some serious end-of-season silliness.

In the main event, the Slush Cup race, skiers and riders attempt to cross an icy 40-foot pond on snowboards or skis while wearing wacky costumes. Other events include

Each time a participant joins in an event, his/her your name is placed in a grand prize drawing for a season ski pass.

Irish Weekend & Cardboard Classic

Nah—you don’t have to be Irish to join the fray for this event. And certainly not to enter the Cardboard Classic.

A variety Irish-inspired activities are staged. But the event highlight is definitely made of cardboard. Sleds may be made only of cardboard, tape and glue, and must race across the finish line in one piece.Other activities and shows include
