The top bobsledders and skeleton sliders in the world make a stop in Lake Placid as part of the FIBT tour, Dec. 15-17, 2006.
The top bobsled and skeleton athletes compete on the FIBT Tour, and they’ll be competing in Lake Placid, NY on December 15 through 17.
Competitions in men's 2-man and 4-man bobsled, women's bobsled, and men's and women's skeleton will take place at one of the world's toughest sliding tracks.
Two- and four-man bobsled teams fly down the track at speeds of as much as 90 mph. Traveling face first down the ice track, skeleton sleds reach 75 to 80 miles an hour.
The athletes will compete on the mile chute at the Olympic Sports Complex located at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, headlined by Germany’s two-man and four-man Olympic bobsled champion Andre Lange as well as United States Olympic silver medal-winning bobsledders Shauna Rohbock and Valerie Fleming and 2005 World Champion skeleton racer Noelle Pikus-Pace.

Location: All race events take place at the Combined Track in the Olympic Sports Complex. Saturday nights festival and awards presentation will be held at the Speed Skating Oval at the Olympic Center in Downtown Lake Placid.
