Backcountry Ski Tours at SnowbasinUtah’s Snowbasin Resort now offers skiers and snowboarders guided backcountry ski and snowboard tours.
Advanced skiers and snowboarders find a unique opportunity to explore Utah's backcountry terrain with Snowbasin Resort's new gouded tour program.
Snowbasin Resort, in Huntsville, Utah, is offering guided backcountry ski and snowboard tours. These adventures are available to groups of two to 10 skiers or snowboarders. Professional ski patrollers with extensive ski mountaineering and avalanche safety skills serve as guides to lead half-day tours into terrain within and outside the Utah ski and snowboard resort's permit boundary. Guided groups also enjoy the opportunity to load the lifts before they are open to the general public. Tours also include an alpine dining experience in the resort's John Paul Lodge. Use of an avalanche beacon, shovel, probe and climbing skins are required and provided for guests’ use if needed, and the tours are restricted to guests age 18 and older who are comfortable on black diamond terrain, in good physical condition, and possess a strong sense of adventure. Reservations are required, and may be made with 24 hours’ notice by calling 801-620-1015.
